HCG Flag used from 1960-1984

The Hellinic Coast Guard was originally established in 1919 and is a para-military organization under the control of the Ministry of Shipping. ITS roles are sea-safety, anti-smuggling, illegal immigration, anti-pollution, law enforcement and SAR duties. Although the service operates a very varied number of boats it is only the lifeboats that are covered on this page.
